Every morning when I wake up, I pray.
Lord, what am I to do today
what am I to say
Counsel me from within
O’ Watcher of men, my Charioteer
I see men and women I esteem fall
I know Lord that You alone stoop
To pick me up.
Better than I come to you each morning
Bearing the one offering I have, my heart
Take it Lord, make it pure
Grant me before it is too late
The eyes of a child
That I might enter heaven
The gates to which Kingdom You swung open
The red carpet that You laid
The sweet light of thy word
May it shine purely and simply before me
Lead us, Lord to You.
I bring my heart, in it
the sea of desires
I ask you to be Lord of
Jesus, I trust in You.
